Workshop Open Education & Science Practices 2025

Event, held in hybrid format, brought together over 500 participants, of which 466 online, and 50 participants in room K1 of the UPT Conference Center and the sessions addressed the impact of artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, and blockchain on education and research, providing practical examples and case studies.

The event brought together 15 speakers from Romania, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Belgium, and the USA and over 300 participants from 6 countries, who had the opportunity to interact with the speakers and exchange ideas, asking dozens of questions and collaborating with the speakers during the presentations.
Impact of Emerging Technologies
The sessions addressed the impact of emerging technologies (Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Blockchain) on education and research. The event benefited from 17 presentations by 15 international experts from Romania, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Belgium, Austria, Belgium and the USA. A notable feature was the participation of experts from five university alliances (E³UDRES, UNITE, UNITA, EU4DUALL, CLUSTER), which facilitated networking and exchange of best practices in the fields of open education and science

E³UDRES² - Ent-r-e-novators PhD Summer School 2025

The first edition of the E³UDRES² - Ent-r-e-novators PhD Summer School 2025 - Open Practices in Higher Education brought together over 70 international students from 22 countries, and another 400 students participated online via Zoom. 14 international experts from Romania, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Latvia, Hungary, the Netherlands, Belgium, Latvia, Hungary and Austria gave a series of valuable presentations and workshops on Open Education, Open Science, Open Access and Open Innovation.
All presentations were given in English. After the end of the summer courses, students received official certificates of participation, recognized for 2 ECTS credits, validated by UPT, for the activities carried out both in Timișoara and online. In addition, the participants also received two open digital certificates: one for the completion of MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) courses focused on licensing and open licensing, and a second open digital certificate confirming the completion of the learning modules on the new Arena Hub platform E³UDRES².

More than 800 participants - 65 in the K1 Amphitheater of the UPT Conference Center and 750 online - through Zoom - attended interactive sessions held by 18 internationally renowned speakers from Romania, Ukraine, Germany, Spain and Italy.
The central theme of this edition focused on „Developing digital skills for resilience”, emphasizing the need to equip educators, students and citizens with the necessary skills to navigate and thrive in an ever-changing digital environment.
Discussions focused on the European Union's Digital Competence Framework 3.0 (DigComp 3.0) and the importance of digital resilience in education, research and community, an important component of this edition being the participation of Ukrainian university professors in a Study Visit to Timisoara, hosted by DeL - UPT.
