ID/IFR graduation ceremony

The Auditorium hosted ID/IFR Graduation Ceremony for Class 2025. Graduates of specializations Computer Science ID, Telecommunication Technologies and Systems ID, Communication and Public Relations ID and Machine Construction Technology IFR The event, hosted by Dr. Diana Andone, Director of the Department of ID/IFR and Digital Education, included speeches by Prof. Em. Em. Dr. Ing. Radu Vasiu, the deans of faculties and the heads of the graduating classes. Graduates at a distance also felt the atmosphere up close by participating in the Ceremony online via Zoom.

Opening of the academic year

October 4

On Saturday, October 4, 2025, was held opening online of the new academic year for the four distance learning (ID) and reduced attendance (IFR) specializations, which was attended by hundreds of students. Dr. Diana Andone, Prof. Univ. Dr. Ing. Alina Dumitrel (pro-rector of UPT), the deans and academic officials sent a message of support to the new students.

Part-time education

The most popular distance specialization is Informatica (Faculty of Automatics and Computers) with almost 270 students this year, followed by Communication and Public Relations (Faculty of Communication Sciences) - with more than 150 students, specializations for which the places have been fully filled this academic year. In addition, the two specializations offering engineering degree teaches over 260 students at: Telecommunications Technologies and Systems (Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technologies) - over 110 students and Machine Construction Technology, (part-time education, Faculty of Mechanics) - almost 150 students.

Pis 700 students have chosen to learn with us, proving once again the growing interest in distance and part-time learning.

Admission

Admission ID/IFR 2025

In 2025, UPT continued to organize the ID and IFR admission session for the 26th consecutive year. Fish 300 students opted to register for the four specializations in the July and September sessions. The support team is made up of over 140 dedicated teachers, who teach the same subjects as in the full-time specializations.

Places fully occupied

The occupancy rate was maintained at 100% for all ID and IFR specializations, distance and part-time education at UPT proving once again that it is a sought-after option, both for technical and humanities profiles.

Digital education in 2025

Virtual Campus

Upgrade to Moodle 5.0 modernized UPT Virtual Campus, offering an intuitive interface that respects the established visual identity but improves the accessibility of resources. The current version brings significant improvements to the question banks and the evaluation system by grouping all activities in a centralized interface, while extending external integration capabilities and synchronous/asynchronous collaboration between users. Additional extensions have also been updated to the latest stable releases.

The Virtual Campus has over 213,000 users, with more than 15 million views, and is accessed internationally. The main user locations include Romania, the Netherlands, Ireland, Germany, Germany, New Zealand, Austria and the USA.

The UPT CV mobile app has been downloaded by 5654 users on Android systems, with an average of 4650 users over the year, of which an average of 2654 daily active users.

CVUPT on iOS

The UPT CV mobile app has been downloaded by 4100+ users on iOS systems, generating over 24,000 views during 2025.

ZOOM

The Department of ID/IFR and Digital Education continued to manage and support the use of the official Zoom account of the Politehnica University of Timisoara in 2025, which was accessed by almost 30,000 users throughout the year, in more than 1,403 Meeting sessions and 100+ Webinar sessions.
